Harold Holden

Primarily known as a cowboy artist, Harold T. Holden, or "H" as he is known to many folks, has been capturing the West in paintings and sculptures for more than 35 years. He credits his father, who was a horseman, for his love of the West. Because of his dad, "H" was on horseback at an early age.
"H" attended Oklahoma State University and the Texas Academy of Art in Houston and then ventured into the commercial art field. He undertook the art directorship at Horseman magazine in Houston and began painting and sculpting in the evenings after work to polish his craft. In the late 1960s, he made a commitment to pursue a fine art career.
Harold has completed 20 life size or larger public sculptures to date, with monuments in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. His most recent monuments include a larger-than-life size sculpture of Will Rogers on horseback at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, a seven foot sculpture of Edward L. Gaylord which was dedicated in June 2006 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, and as of November 9, 2007 The Bison Spirit, a life size American Bison, was unveiled Nov 9th 2007 at the Oklahoma Baptist University, as an Official Oklahoma Centennial Project.
